You can invoke REST API methods that use the HTTP GET method directly from a browser. Just enter a valid Cloud Cruiser REST URL in the browser address bar, then enter your username and password when prompted. When you have successfully authenticated to the Cloud Cruiser server, the response appears in the browser.

To invoke REST API methods that use other HTTP methods, you must use a browser extension-based REST client.

The following are examples of GET browser invocation.

Get a user by ID

The request URL http://localhost:8080/rest/v2/ccusers/users/10005 might generate the following response:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<user xmlns="" id="10005">
    <userGroup name="admin" id="2"/>
    <fullName>Devin McManager</fullName>
            <description>Full access to all application functions</description>
            <name>Report User</name>
            <description>Access only to running reports</description>

Get a user group by name

The request URL http://localhost:8080/rest/v2/ccusers/groups?groupName=admin might generate the following response:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<userGroupList xmlns="">
    <userGroup id="2">
        <title>Administration Group</title>
        <accountView name="Default" groupDefault="true"/>
            <user name="admin" id="2" active="true"/>
            <user name="Sally" id="10003" active="true"/>
            <user name="storagemgr" id="10004" active="true"/>
            <user name="devmgr" id="10005" active="true"/>
            <user name="bill" id="10006" active="true"/>
            <user name="vpitfinance" id="10007" active="true"/>
