Disabling and enabling the charge step in jobs

Cloud Cruiser includes an option to toggle whether charge jobs run. This enables you to test your Cloud Cruiser implementation as you are working, without generating charge records that would otherwise need to be removed each time you run an ETL workbook.

To ensure optimum database performance, we recommend you disable automatic charge and create a batch job to run during off-peak hours. For more information about scheduling jobs, see Running jobs from the Cloud Cruiser Portal.

To disable or enable charge jobs

  1. Navigate to Administration > Configuration > General > Billing.
  2. Toggle Charge Enabled to Yes if you want charge jobs enabled, or No if you want charge jobs disabled.
  3. Click Save.

If you want to override that global setting for any specific job, open your job's XML file and set the ignoreChargeEnabledFlag parameter to true. For example:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans xmlns="" xmlns:xsi="" xmlns:batch=""
    <bean id="processInfo" class="com.cloudcruiser.batch.ProcessInfo">
        <property name="processName" value="charge" />
    <batch:job id="Charge" parent="ccjob">
        <batch:step id="charge">
                <bean class="com.cloudcruiser.batch.charge.ChargeTasklet">
                    <property name="active" value="true" />
                    <!-- if true, include monthly charge; otherwise, skip them -->
                    <property name="processMonthlyCharges" value="true" />
                    <!-- if true, will always run charge, even if the "Charge Enabled" configuration -->
                    <!-- is set to "no." Default value is false -->
                    <property name="ignoreChargeEnabledFlag" value="true" />
