Writing new reports

Previously loaded reports will be updated with the new compiled template and resource bundle information if loaded again. The report title, group association, hidden status, and so on are preserved when reloading a report. To force all properties to be updated, you must first delete the loaded report with -d and then reload the report.

Customizing the report location

The location of custom reports is determined by the directory_reports configuration property. By default, this location is set to the custom_reports directory under the install location.

To change the location in Cloud Cruiser, go to Administration > Configuration > Directories and type the path the Reports field.

Default report title

When reports are loaded, there must be an accompanying resource bundle file with the same base name as the report file. For example, for MyReport.jrxml there must also be a file that contains resource strings for a default report title and any parameters for which the user should be prompted.

NOTE: The default title from this file is used to set the report title when initially loaded. Changes made to the property in the resource bundle after the report is loaded will not affect the title seen in the report tree.
