Cloud Cruiser became HPE Consumption Analytics on Nov. 1st. You'll still see the old name in places while we update this site.

Performance and utilization metrics

HPE Consumption Analytics Portal can collect certain performance and utilization metrics from your cloud providers. You can use this data for debugging and troubleshooting, measuring performance, monitoring resource usage, and auditing. This article lists the specific HPE Consumption Analytics Portal fields that are collected from each provider and, where applicable, how they are aggregated.

When viewing a report, your data might be displayed with additional aggregation beyond what is described below. This is because HPE Consumption Analytics Portal aggregates rows that have identical values in every text column to make the report easier to read.

To make sure that a metric column in a report has not undergone additional aggregation, click its context menu in the Columns area and choose Do Not Aggregate, or add text columns with unique values so that no rows can aggregate.

Microsoft Azure virtual machines

Cloud Cruiser collects metrics in twenty-four hourly samples on a daily basis. The aggregation is performed both by Azure to create those hourly numbers and by HPE Consumption Analytics Portal to convert those into a single daily number after collection. The following table lists the metrics per virtual machine and whether diagnostics is enabled or disabled. To collect specific metrics, make sure you have the correct diagnostic setting configured for each virtual machine. To verify diagnostic settings, review the steps outlined in Managing diagnostics for Azure VMs.

Cloud Cruiser only collects metrics from Azure for VMs.

Amazon Web Services

These metrics are collected as a single number for a given day, so the aggregation shown here is performed by AWS CloudWatch to create that number.
