Working with the 3PAR storage page

Table of contents

This overview is relevant to HPE GreenLake Flex Capacity account holders.

This article describes the features of the 3PAR storage page of the HPE GreenLake Flex Capacity Customer View, and how they work.

The service-specific pages in the HPE GreenLake Flex Capacity Customer View are made up of interactive chart and report widgets that contain analytics designed to address common requirements. These are preconfigured for you; for example, some have predefined filters.

If a filter is locked by the report author, it displays a lock icon. You cannot edit or remove locked filters.

The Period fields enable you to specify a range of dates for all data displayed. You can select from several predefined ranges, or enter a custom range.  You can also add filters (and remove them, except for locked filters), and adjust column width, in tabular report widgets.

In the 3PAR page. the predefined widgets display capacity by array and tier, usage v. commitment by meter, and usage by drive:

Displaying details

Each of the widgets is interactive, so you can display further details by hovering, clicking, or drilling down.

Line charts show data for numeric fields, such as cost, quantity, or rate, over time.  On a line chart, you can hover over a data point on a line to display a tooltip containing its details. Clicking a data point on a line works as a data filter, causing the charts and reports on the page to show data only for that point in time.

Bar charts compare categorical data in rectangular bars sized in proportion to the values they represent.  On a bar chart, you can hover over a bar to display a tooltip containing its details. Clicking a bar works as a data filter, causing the charts and reports on the page to show data only for the device it represents.

The Report widget shows data for a single report only, as preconfigured for you.  Tabular report widgets break results down by tier.  For some customers, they're also broken down by location. Each item at the lowest level - whether it represents a particular tier at a particular location, or simply a particular Tier - is considered a Meter. Each Meter's costs are subtotaled; costs are also subtotaled by service category.  An overall total is displayed at the bottom of the page.

In the tabular report widget 3PAR Usage by Drive, the results are broken down by device.

If a report includes groups of data (the Group column), the other columns in the row show totals for all members in that group. You can click a black triangle to expand the group and display the rows that contain its members' data. Some groups might include subgroups.
