Stopping and starting the application server

Table of contents

The following sections explain how to stop and start the Cloud Cruiser application server in different operating systems.

If the application server will not start, you likely have a port conflict between Cloud Cruiser and Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server. This might be accompanied by the following message:

SEVERE: Failed to initialize end point associated with ProtocolHandler ["http-bio-8080"]
java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind <null>:8080

To resolve this, see Removing port conflicts.

In Windows

You can start and stop the Cloud Cruiser application server from Microsoft Windows’ Services administrative tool. It is the Cloud Cruiser service.

You can also stop and start the server from the command line by running the following commands from the <install_dir>/bin directory:

  • To stop the service: ccservice stop
  • To start the service: ccservice start

In Linux

You can stop and start the server from the command line by running the following commands from the <install_dir>/bin directory:

  • To stop the service: ./ccserver.sh stop
  • To start the service: ./ccserver.sh start
