Running jobs from the Cloud Cruiser Portal

From the Cloud Cruiser Portal, you can create and run jobs and also schedule them to run regularly if you have the Admin role.

Creating a job

The Advanced Job Maintenance page in the Cloud Cruiser Portal includes sample jobs and production jobs. With sample jobs, you can copy XML code for your own job, or save the sample job as a production job and run it with little or no modifications. 

To ensure optimum database performance, we recommend you disable automatic charge and create a batch job to run during off-peak hours. For more information about disabling charge, see Disabling and enabling the charge step in a job. For more information about scheduling jobs, see Scheduling jobs to run

To create and run a job in the HPE Consumption Analytics Portal Portal

  1. Go to Data > Processing > Advanced Job Maintenance.
  2. From the list of jobs, right-click and select Create a new batch job.
  3. Modify the job XML file and click Validate to check the job XML syntax is valid.
  4. Click Run batch job.

You can view the progress of running jobs and the results of completed jobs. For more information about viewing jobs, see Monitoring job results.

Creating a production job from a sample job

To create a production job

  1. Go to Data > Processing > Advanced Job Maintenance.
  2. Select a sample job in the Packaged Integrations list and click Save As.
  3. In the Save As pop-up, enter a new job name and click OK.
    This saves the job in the Production Jobs list where you can modify its XML.
  4. (Optional) Modify the job XML file.
    Most jobs require some editing prior to running the job, such as providing settings with the explicit or managed data source for collectors, but some simple process jobs, such as alert_process ​and run_report, require no editing.
  5. (Recommended) Click Validate to check that the job XML syntax is valid.
  6. Click Run.

When the job completes, a status for the Run Results returns with one of the following results; Completed Successfully, Completed with Warnings, Failed, or Launch Error. You also have an option to view the log for this job run. For more information on viewing job logs, see Monitoring job results.

If your jobs previously completed successfully but are now completing with warnings, you might be out of compliance with your Cloud Cruiser license. For more information, see License compliance notifications.
