Importing and exporting resources

You can import and export resources directly into Cloud Cruiser with comma-separated values (CSV) files that contain the resources to be imported. For a description of the CSV format, see Resource CSV file format.

NOTE: Any resource imported for a rate plan other than the default plan must already exist in the default plan. All resources must have a default revision.

Importing resources from the HPE Consumption Analytics Portal Portal

To import a resource CSV file from the HPE Consumption Analytics Portal Portal

  1. Go to Billing > Services.
  2. In the Resources list, right-click a resource and select Import new resources from CSV.
The Import New Resources dialog box opens.
  3. Click Choose File, then choose a resource CSV file.
  4. Click OK to close the Import New Resources dialog box and import the resource file.

Importing resources from the command line

To import a resource CSV file from the command line

Run the ccimport utility from <install_dir>\bin. For example:

ccimport -t resource -f cloud_resources.csv

where resource is the import type and cloud_resources.csv is the source filename. You can also run ccimport from ccjob using the <install_dir>\job_samples\import.xml file. For help on this command, type ccimport -h .

Exporting resources

You can export all available resources from the database to a comma-separated values (CSV) output file. The exported CSV file can be imported to another Cloud Cruiser database using the ccimport utility.

NOTE: For resource export, bundled resource types are NOT supported.

To export a resource CSV file

At a command prompt, run ccexport from <install_dir>\bin. For example:

ccexport -t resource -f cloud_resources.csv

where resource is the export type and cloud_resources.csv is the destination filename. For help on this command, go to the property values directory in a command tool and type ccexport -h .

CAUTION: When exporting a file containing resources with revisions, states, and tiers, then modifying that data and re-importing, it could cause unexpected results and is not recommended.
